Project Summary

As Project Manager, Civil Support was responsible for the overall delivery of the external works package associated with the redevelopment of the Stockland’s Rockhampton shopping complex. Works included the installation of new traffic signals, reconfiguration of existing intersections and the construction of shopping centre car parking facilities. Civil Support was responsible for design review and securing of approvals for the works from both Main Roads and Rockhampton Regional Council.

Civil Support developed the contract documentation including the technical specifications and annexures and took the lead role in all stakeholder management. External constraints dictated that the works were carried out on a 24 hour/ seven day a week time frame. Civil Support’s Director, Mark Prideaux, was the Superintendent for several contracts during the construction phase of the project and he provided a coordination role for the management of three Principal Contractors carrying out works simultaneously to deliver the works on time.

The external works package, together with several additional works packages, were delivered on time for the centre opening and within budget estimates. As Superintendent, Civil Support undertook contract administration and site inspection for all the external works packages for successful handover as contributed assets to Main Roads, Rockhampton Regional Council and Stockland Development.
